By now you know that Central Almaguin is a beautiful region, comprised of four distinct but closely-located communities. Two of these villages have vibrant, active farmers markets offering a wide variety of fresh foods, related products and goods.
During the Summer months the South River Farmer’s Market is located at the South River-Machar Arena and Community Centre. It normally takes place on Saturdays from 9AM to 1PM. Recent seasons have featured:
- Homemade baking
- Maple Syrup (an area staple!)
- Honey & honey butter
- Arts & crafts
The Sundridge Farmer’s Market takes place annually during the warmer months at the Sundridge Strong Joly Arena parking lot, 14 Albert Street North in Sundridge. In addition to fruits & vegetables, this market has featured:
- Edible flowers
- Hemp clothing
- Knitted products
- Live music
There are also a number of Farmers markets held in nearby and surrounding communities, including Callander, Burk’s Falls and Powassan.
